Introduction to front-end automated testing

In the tutorial, participants will learn principles of front-end automated testing using JUnit and Selenium WebDriver. This introduction includes initial overview of JUnit functionality, WebDriver API, optimal element localization strategies, parametrization of testing data using data grids, possible pitfalls in JUnit and front-end automated testing. One of main challenges in front-end automated testing is high maintenance overhead of automated tests – in the tutorial, several strategies how to decrease this maintenance will be introduced. Then a high-level overview of advanced structuring of automated tests will be given.

 

Required equipment: own laptop, IDE for Java development with support of and JUnit, Java 1.8, Firefox updated on last verison
